Bonuses and Promotions at Online Casinos in New York

The best New York online casinos feature a range of bonuses and rewards for new and existing players. Here’s a rundown of the most common bonus types you’ll see:

Welcome Bonus

When you sign up with any online casino in NY, you’ll receive a percentage-based welcome bonus with your first deposit. Some casinos go the extra mile to add free spins on top.

Let’s say a casino offers a 350% bonus up to $3,500 and 50 free spins to match. If you deposit just $20 into your account, you’d get 3.5x this amount ($70) to play with along with 50 free spins for slot games.

However, these casino bonuses come with certain wagering requirements like time and bet limits and a rollover. A usual rollover is somewhere between 25x-40x the bonus amount received. This means you’ll need to wager through the bonus amount 25x-40x before being able to cash out.

In addition, casinos usually limit the contribution of certain games toward completing the wagering requirements. Selected slots contribute 100% to your wagering requirements, while table games and card games contribute 10-20%. Live dealer games are often excluded from your playthrough, so it’s best to avoid these titles until you’ve satisfied the wagering requirements for your bonuses.

No-Deposit Bonus

It’s difficult to find solid no-deposit bonus offers at the best online casinos in New York, but a select handful of sites make it possible to get a bonus without spending a dime. This can prove quite useful if you want to try real money games for free – and potentially win.

But there’s no such thing as a free lunch right? In this case, no deposit bonuses usually have much higher wagering requirements than regular bonuses, making them very hard to cash out.

Reload Bonus

Reload bonuses are bonuses that you receive on subsequent deposits after initially funding your account. They can take the form of free spins or percentage-based match rewards. You’ll earn a reload bonus when you come back for more fun after making your first deposit.

Reload bonuses carry similar wagering requirements to those of welcome bonuses, but they come with much lower multipliers.

Loyalty/VIP Bonus

Loyalty/VIP bonuses are bonuses that you receive by taking part in a casino’s loyalty or VIP program. You can claim free spins and level-up rewards from a loyalty bonus, but they most frequently take the form of cashback and other perks not normally accessible to new users.

Games at Online Casinos in NY

The best online casinos in New York feature a similar number and variety of games compared to your favorite brick-and-mortar casino, and more. From slots and jackpots to classic tables, card games, and specialties, you’ll never run out of high-quality games to keep you occupied and entertained.

When choosing any game, though, be sure to check its RTP. This means “return to player,” and it represents how much of the money wagered on the game is paid out to players in winnings on average. It doesn’t mean there are any guarantees that you’ll get this back—all games have winners and losers, after all—but the basic rule is: The higher the RTP, the better.

Online Slots

Real money slots come in all shapes and sizes. You can play classic titles, video slots, progressives for life-changing jackpots, innovative features like Megaways and cluster pays, various themes… the list goes on. To get started, here’s a list of five online slot games we love to play:

Roulette

The best NY casino online sites have American, French, European, and specialty variants of roulette. The rules may be slightly different each time and the RTP/house edge will vary, but the basic game remains the same: try to predict where the ball will land.

These titles from Nucleus and Dragon Gaming are well worth trying out:

Baccarat

Baccarat gives you a clear path to victory by wagering on the player or the banker to have a higher card value. Unlike blackjack, it’s almost purely a game of chance by anyone’s metrics. If you’re placing side bets, you may have a greater degree of control while drawing certain cards.

Top online casinos in New York deliver a classic gaming experience from Nucleus, Dragon Gaming, and more with some twists and turns along the way:

Poker

Poker is a classic card game that never goes out of style, and that’s why it’s a popular find at online NY casino sites. Three-card poker, Caribbean Stud, Triple Edge, and less common variants such as Pai Gow Poker bring all the anticipation of the dealer’s flop to your desktop or mobile device.

Nucleus, BetSoft, Red Tiger, and Habanero promise classic adventures and exotic thrills alike:

Video Poker

Unlike casino-style poker, video poker delivers immediate results and fast-paced action. When you visit a land-based casino, you’re playing video poker on a computer anyway. Why not cut out the middleman and try Pocket Flush or Deuces Wild at one of the best New York online casino sites?

Some video poker variants let you wager up to 100 hands at a time, giving you plenty to look at:

Live Casino

Live casinos provide the closest you’ll get to a bona-fide table gaming experience at popular NY casinos online. Live dealer software companies like FreshDeck and Visionary use real-life dealers and physical equipment to simulate the rush of visiting your favorite casino in person.

Top real money online casinos in New York feature live blackjack, roulette, baccarat, poker, and even TV-inspired game shows. In short, there’s boatloads of fun and entertainment to be had.

Crash/Aviator

Crash and Aviator-style games aren’t commonly found at brick-and-mortar casinos, but that doesn’t make them any less fun to play online. Crash-style titles put you in the driver’s seat to control your risk tolerance and win potential on a round-by-round basis.

As you watch the multiplier climb to unimaginable heights, it’s your job to collect winnings before the game crashes. Greed is your mortal enemy here, but players with high-risk tolerance will fall in love with the mechanics of crash-style games.

Online NY Casino Payment Methods

Funding your account and cashing out your winnings is simple at the best New York online casinos.

You’ll typically have access to a range of payment options including debit/credit cards, money orders, and cryptocurrencies. Depending on the platform, different methods may unlock specific perks – like faster withdrawals or more generous bonuses. Many of these features are also available at Texas-friendly casino sites, which offer similar flexibility and convenience for players in restricted states.

Credit/Debit Cards

You can use popular credit/debit cards to fund your account at popular NY online casinos. It’s simple to enter your card information/CVV code/expiry date, and the entire process is very similar to shopping at Amazon.

However, certain casinos may charge a fee for credit card deposits. It’s also wise to be on the lookout for a fee from your bank, as certain financial providers treat credit card deposits like a cash advance. Thankfully, you can avoid most of these issues by using a debit card instead.

Cash Transfers

If you don’t want to enter your card information online, you have the option of employing a third-party service like Western Union and MoneyGram at the best New York casinos online. If you’re planning on making a larger deposit, this allows you to pay fewer fees than you might for a wire transfer. While cash transfers aren’t available at all casinos, Wild Casino accepts MoneyGram.

Bank Wire Transfers

Bank wire transfers are primarily used for requesting withdrawals at New York online casinos. The usual fee can climb up to $20 for bank wire transfers, allowing you to send between $100 and $2,500 back to your checking account in 7 – 10 business days. Bank wires are secure and direct for moving larger amounts of winnings.

Cryptocurrencies

Cryptocurrency is quickly becoming a popular NY online casino payment option for deposits and payouts alike. Many online casinos, like BetUS and Wild.io, promise significantly larger welcome and reload matches for crypto depositors who fund their balance with BTC, ETH, LTC, and more.

Crypto payouts are anonymous, fee-free, and delivered to your wallet of choice in just 24 – 48 hours – that’s much quicker than a cash transfer. If you’re looking for fast withdrawal casinos with minimal fees, crypto is the way to go.

Paper Check

If you want to have more flexibility over where your casino winnings land, it’s a fantastic idea to request a paper check from your preferred NY online casino. It’s not very common to find sites that accept old-fashioned checks for deposit purposes, but they’re readily available for payouts.

Unfortunately, paper checks usually require a higher withdrawal minimum than other payment methods. They also come with more fees compared to bank wire transfers and cash transfers.

However, the allure of receiving a paper check is that you can deposit it with any bank account of your choosing. There’s no need to enter your routing/account numbers ahead of time, either.

  • Try new kinds of games: The beauty of New York online casino sites is the game variety. You’re not limited to the usual casino roster, instead, you have the chance to play unique, original, and novel scratch, crash, and other specialty games.

NY Online Casinos vs. Land-Based Casinos

Similar to Arizona’s treatment of Arizona online casinos, the state of New York doesn’t recognize online casinos but has legalized gambling in some capacity. Currently, it’s legal to indulge in sports betting and commercial casinos, with forecasters expecting even less rigorous regulation in the future.

The popularity of online casinos keeps rising, and even the world-famous Las Vegas establishments are finding themselves competing with Nevada online casinos.

Nevertheless, brick-and-mortar venues still have the advantage when it comes to atmosphere, and here are some of the most famous NY casinos where you can have a taste of it:

  • Turning Stone Resort Casino (Verona, NY)
  • Resorts World New York City (Queens, NY)
  • Resorts World Catskills (Monticello, NY)

Announced weeks after Caesars Entertainment hosted the largest-ever edition of the live World Series of Poker event, the operator has sold the brand to GGPoker’s parent brand, NSUS Inc

NSUS has acquired the market-leading poker event in a deal worth a total of $500m, with $250 million being paid in cash up front and another $250 million due in five years time.

Caesars Digital President Eric Hession noted how GGPoker has been a “longstanding and successful” partner of WSOP following the sale, with the online poker brand sending a number of online satellite qualifiers to both the Las Vegas and the WSOP Paradise events.

“We’ve enjoyed a longstanding and successful partnership with GGPoker that has helped spur the growth of the WSOP brand,” said Hession.

“This transaction is an exciting step for Caesars as a company and the WSOP brand as it continues to evolve. We can’t wait to see what NSUS has in store for growing the WSOP’s legacy in poker, and we look forward to continuing to deliver an unmatched and familiar experience to poker players going forward.”

Despite the sale, live WSOP events are set to remain at Caesars’ Las Vegas properties, allowing the operator to continue profiting from the events. Regional Caesars properties will continue to offer WSOP Circuit events as well.

NSUS Group CEO Michael Kim commented: “After collaborating with Caesars Entertainment for years, NSUS Group, the operators of GGPoker, is thrilled to announce their new role in leading the WSOP, the world’s most renowned poker brand.

“We will leverage GGPoker’s cutting-edge technology and industry expertise to create an exciting future for WSOP, ensuring players have an increasingly improved, safe, and seamless poker experience. Under the new leadership, NSUS intends to expand WSOP worldwide, positioning it at the forefront of poker’s growth.”

Another element to the sale will see Caesars continue to be able to provide its WSOP Online offerings in Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, which take place on the 888 platform.

Caesars, however, will not be able to expand into new online poker states such as West Virginia “for a specified period of time and subject to certain exceptions”.

SBC Summit North America is gearing up for another edition, set to gather 5,000 senior decision-makers for a dynamic event filled with learning, networking and business opportunities.

The leading iGaming and sports betting event in North America will return to the Meadowlands Exposition Center in New Jersey (May 8-9). Preceding the core event, a pre-day conference (May 7) will unfold in New York City and showcase the well-regarded Player Protection Symposium and Compliance & Leadership conferences as well as the newly-established Earnings+More: Capital Markets Forum, organized in collaboration with +More Media.

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and Founder of SBC said: “The goal is to leverage the momentum we gained last year when we gathered the key operators, affiliates, suppliers, regulators, and media from the North American region. We anticipate a 66% surge in delegate numbers and are focused on attracting both industry newcomers and those who missed out on the opportunity to attend last year. The early numbers are promising, and the exhibition floor is approaching full capacity, even though we had added 15 extra booths this year to meet the demand.”

The exhibition floor is set to showcase a diverse lineup, with over 75 prominent companies taking the spotlight. SBC is pleased to announce the four industry heavyweights whose contributions to the industry have earned them a spot in this month’s Hall of Fame Ceremony.

The celebration of the newest inductees is set to unfold at the W Hotel, Barcelona, on September 19, as part of the SBC Leaders Summit. The inaugural c-level industry gathering forms part of SBC Summit Barcelona, scheduled to take place at Fira Barcelona Montjuïc from September 19-21.

The individuals whose ongoing industry contributions will be acknowledged at the ceremony are:

  • Gustaf Hagman – CEO and Co-Founder, LeoVegas.
  • Jordan Levin – CEO, OpenBet.
  • Per Widerström – Incoming CEO, 888 (effective October 16, 2023).
  • Brigid Simmonds OBE – Chair, Betting and Gaming Council.

The Sports Betting Hall of Fame was launched by SBC in 2016 to recognise, honour and celebrate the individuals whose accomplishments and lasting contribution have made a positive impact on the industry. The ceremony will be hosted by former inductees — SBC’s very own Sue Schneider & Simon Bold (Betting & Gaming Consultant, Fatcats Limited).

Schneider said: “This is an occasion that will forever remain in the hearts of the inductees. It’s an opportunity for us, as an industry, to take a moment and recognise the incredible work they’ve done – from pioneering the concept of mobile-first betting to guiding companies through cultural transformations, mergers and acquisitions, and establishing ethical standards in the industry.

“I’m excited to celebrate the impressive individuals of the 2023 class who are contributing their best to propel our industry forward. Hosting this ceremony is as much an honour as receiving my own Hall of Fame award.”

The latest inductees will join their fellow 2023 classmates Michael Gaughan (Owner, South Point Hotel Casino Spa), Nick Bogdanovich (Sportsbook Manager/Oddsmaker, Circa Sports), Trish Lewandowski (Sportsbook District Manager, Caesars Digital) and David L. Rebuck (Director, NJ Department of Gaming Enforcement), who were inducted at SBC Summit North America in June 2023.

Alongside Schneider, the 2022 ceremony also saw Chris Andrews (Sportsbook Director, South Point), Paul Burns (President & CEO, Canadian Gaming Association), Sandy Drozd (Director – Software and Product Compliance, Circa Resort & Casino) and Vincent Magliulo (Vice President/SportsBook Director, Las Vegas Dissemination Co./Gaughan Gaming) inducted.

The SBC Leaders Summit is an invite-only gathering of 450 c-level executives that includes exclusive networking opportunities, engaging conference agenda and regional and regulatory roundtables, as well as a poker championship, alongside a variety of invite-only dinners during the core days of SBC Summit Barcelona.

The SBC Leaders Summit is an invite-only event.

Design Works Gaming has entered the igaming market of Connecticut via a partnership with DraftKings.

Through the deal, online casino titles from DWG’s studio are now live to DraftKings customers in the Constitution State.

Premium LuckyTap titles and Vegas-style slots are available through the partnership via Light & Wonder’s OpenGaming platform, such as 10X Fortune and Break the Bounty LuckyTap, with additional titles to come.

“Expanding into each US market comes with its own set of complexities,” commented Troy Zurawski, CEO and Founder of DWG.

“Our team knows how to navigate the regulatory landscape, understands local preferences, and tailors our games to meet the specific needs of Connecticut players.

“By collaborating closely with DraftKings, we’re ready to bring the same elevated content and playing experience to Connecticut that we have to New Jersey, Michigan and Pennsylvania.”

Following the entry into Connecticut, DWG titles are live in four US states in total – Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania – partnering with the likes of Rush Street Interactive, Caesars Entertainment, BetMGM as well as DraftKings.

DWG also recently entered into a collaboration that will see Playtech, and the group’s Eyecon games developer subsidiary, licence the LuckyTap mechanic.

The studio is also licenced in the UK market and is partnered with several brands such as Rank Interactive, Betfred, Boylesports, BetVictor, 888 and NetBet.

Every week, CasinoBeats breaks down the numbers behind some of the industry’s most interesting stories. As English Premier Clubs voluntarily banned front-of-shirt sponsorship, New Jersey saw operating profits fall, plans were announced for the first Japanese casino and 888 published damning FY2022 results.

2026

In unison, English Premier League clubs have agreed to voluntarily withdraw gambling sponsorship from the front of their matchday shirts, coming into effect at the end of the 2025/26 football season.

The withdrawal of front-of-shirt gambling sponsorship means the Premier League has become the first sports league in the UK to undergo such an action voluntarily to reduce gambling advertising.

Currently, eight teams in the Premier League – Bournemouth, Brentford, Everton, Fulham, Leeds United, Newcastle, Southampton and West Ham – have a gambling company as their front-of-shirt sponsor and will have to change to comply with the new rule.

While the UK’s Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer stated that she welcomed the decision, these existing front-of-shirt sponsorship deals can still be honoured until the end of the 2025/26 season and new deals can be agreed to so long as they don’t go past the set deadline.

Plans for Japan’s first casino establishment have been given the nod, with a ¥1.8tn ($13.5bn) resort in the Western city of Osaka set to open its doors in 2029.

The casino build is expected to reel in ¥520bn of revenue annually, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida stated that the resort will help the area grow economically following the city’s hosting of the 2025 World Expo in Osaka Bay.

US casino operator MGM Resorts International and local partner Orix Corp are leading the Osaka project and will each have a 40 per cent stake ownership, with the remaining 20 per cent being held by another 20 companies according to a local government document.

The country had previously banned casinos and other forms of private gambling, but the resort will be the first casino property built since an integrated resort law was introduced in 2018, allowing casino games at officially approved establishments.

888 revealed a significant net loss after tax of over £120m when publishing its FY2022 financial results.

While the operator continues a search for its new CEO, 888 attributed “increased financing costs from the debt on acquisition of William Hill” in July 2022 to the loss.

Although results saw an upward trend in revenue of 74 per cent to £1.2bn, this figure considers the consolidation of William Hill revenues across H2 2022 and 888 revealed losses on a pro forma basis, with revenue falling three per cent.

Losses in international business, online gaming revenue and sports book revenue also contributed to the operator’s significant net loss in profit after tax.

Overall, 888 reported a net loss in profit before tax for 2022 of £120.6m (2021: net profit £50m) with profits falling to £64.2m on an adjusted basis (2021: £82.6m). The group also declared a net debt of £1.73bn.

31.6

New Jersey casinos are struggling to return to pre-pandemic levels as the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement declared that operating profits had fallen in 2022.

Publishing its fourth quarter and financial year 2022 results, the Garden State’s nine casino establishments were revealed to have struggled in both periods overall as operating profits fell by 31.6 per cent to $119.3m for Q4 (2021: $174.5m) and by 4.6 per cent for the full year to $731.3m (2021: $766.9m).

Hard Rock, Ocean Resort and Bally’s AC were the only casinos in New Jersey that saw operating profits improve in 2022 compared to the year prior. Hard Rock rose by 19.8 per cent to $128m (2021: $106.8m) while Ocean improved by 5.5 per cent to $96.2m (2021: $91.3m).

Although Bally’s had the biggest increase in operating cost at 85.7 per cent, it still came in at a loss of $1.9m (2021: $13.2m). Bally’s was joined in losses by Resorts Casino, Borgata, Harrah’s, Tropicana, Caesars and Golden Nugget, which all saw operating profits decline.

119.2

Detroit’s casinos concluded the first quarter of 2023 achieving a slight uptick in aggregate revenue, with only one location reporting a decline in revenue compared to the previous year.

Reporting the March and Q1 figures, the Michigan Gaming Control Board declared a total March revenue for the state’s three casinos of $119.2m, down compared to March 2021’s $122.8m.

MGM Grand Detroit earned the biggest revenue share with 46 per cent, followed by Motor City Casino with 30 per cent and Hollywood Casino at Greektown with 24 per cent.

For Q1, Detroit’s casinos declared a 3.4 per cent YoY improvement in revenue to $326.2m (2021: $315.5m), with the state receiving $26.4m in gaming taxes (2022: $25.6m)

Per property, MGM Grand was top with $154.7m (2.5 per cent YoY uptick), followed by Motor City with $97.3m (0.9 per cent decline) and Hollywood Casino with $74.2m (11.5 per cent increase).

59

Everi Holdings has agreed to acquire certain assets of gaming content provider Video King for a cash consideration of approximately $59m, subject to customary net working capital adjustments.

Expected to be completed within the next 60 days, the transaction will be funded from existing cash on hand and is expected upon closing to be immediately additive to the company’s adjusted EBITDA and free cash flow.

Randy Taylor, CEO of Everi, stated: “Over the past several years, we have had great success with executing on acquisitions that grow our product capabilities and the markets we serve.

“During this time, we have established a track record of successfully scaling up acquisitions that have delivered an attractive return on investment and helped drive strong cash flow.

“We are highly confident that by helping to elevate our current Games, FinTech and Digital solutions with and adjacent to our established customer base, the acquisition of Video King will meet those same criteria and offer Everi another lever for growth.”

61

The US gaming industry is “more diverse than national and hospitality industry benchmarks”, according to research from the American Gaming Association.

Analysing EEOC data, the study also revealed that the industry “boasts a diverse executive pipeline, while identifying opportunities on gender representation”.

In total, 26 AGA member organisations took part in the research, including gaming industry companies from the manufacturer, commercial and tribal operator segments.

Completing an EEO-01 form, participants provided gender, race/ethnicity and job classification data for their workforces, submitting this data to a third-party accounting firm that calculated the various diversity metrics and safeguarded confidentiality. The data submitted was also reviewed for consistency across participants.

Results from the AGA study include:

  • 61 per cent of gaming industry employees are minorities (52 per cent of the broader hospitality industry and 42 per cent of the total US workforce).
  • 23 per cent of gaming employees are Hispanic and 19 per cent are Black (both higher than the national workforce and in line with the hospitality industry).
  • 60 per cent of operator employees are minorities, up nearly 20 per cent from 2011 (higher than the hospitality sector and national workforces overall).
  • 45 per cent of gaming manufacturer employees are minorities (38 per cent in the broader electronic manufacturing workforce).

2.4

Spelinspektionen, Sweden’s gambling inspectorate, has received an additional SEK 2.4m (€200,000) to its 2023 budget from the Riksdag via the government’s Ministry of Finance to help it tackle illegal gambling activities.

These funds will help to support the safeguarding of Sweden’s regulated online gambling marketplace and assist the authority in handling both “a large influx of permit applications and important supervisory tasks”.

“We welcome these extra funds which enable further strengthened measures in the fight against unlicensed gambling, money laundering and match-fixing,” noted Spelinspektionen’s Director General Camilla Rosenberg.

Spelinspektionen added the additional funding will help it further personnel resources expansion to already planned activities, whilst carrying out more supervisory and information activities.

Each week, CasinoBeats breaks down the numbers behind some of the industry’s most interesting stories. A pair of Australian casino developments, UKGC performance review, financial updates and the New York casino race all feature in our latest review of a selection of last week’s headlines.

100

The Star Entertainment Group was hit with a record penalty for an Australian operator due to money laundering failures, with the group’s licence also suspended indefinitely.

Effective from October 21, The Star received written notice from the New South Wales Independent Casino Commission and has been told to pay a total penalty of A$100m ($62m, £55m) on a timetable yet to be agreed by the NICC.

The Star Sydney casino will remain open and operating with the NICC appointing Nicolas Weeks as Manager of the property for a period of 90 days, subject to extension by the regulator. Staff at the property will be unaffected by the appointment.

2021

Land-based participation is still lower than pre-pandemic levels in the UK sector, although the year to March 2022 witnessed a three per cent increase, according to Andrew Rhodes, CEO of the UK Gambling Commission

Addressing the 2022 IAGR Conference in Melbourne in a speech that summarised the Commission’s recent series of enforcement actions, Rhodes also revealed there has been signs of recovery since the pandemic due to in-person gambling participation rate increasing to 26 per cent from 24 per cent in March of last year.

During the global pandemic, online participation witnessed a grand increase and, since the public health restrictions, it remained statistically stable at 26 per cent compared to March 2021 – but Rhodes expressed that it continues its long-term increase.

However, he expressed that, within the UK gambling market, the sector is “not seeing inexorable growth”, with overall gambling engagement stable and not growing as a whole.

1515

Caesars Entertainment and SL Green Realty united to outline a Times Square casino vision as the battle to win one of three licences in the region hots up.

As numerous gaming operators and property developers set their sights on one of the highly sought after certifications, Caesars and the real estate investment trust, which would redevelop 1515 Broadway, promised to deliver “major economic benefits to all Times Square stakeholders”.

The partnership, said the pair, will make “significant investments” in security, traffic, and mass transit improvements, accelerate economic recovery for surrounding businesses and create good-paying union jobs for New Yorkers should its pursuit of a gaming licence prove successful.

2022

The Queensland government detailed the introduction of tougher laws and stricter oversight of casino operators in the latest development to impact the country’s retail gaming establishments.

Shannon Fentiman, Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, noted that “the strong reforms” contained in the Casino Control and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2022 are designed to ensure casinos are operating lawfully and transparently, and take their responsibilities to reduce gambling harm seriously.

This comes after former Court of Appeal Judge Robert Gotterson found Star Entertainment unsuitable to hold a casino licence within the state following a review that examined a broad range of issues and highlighted “major failings and concerns”.

The government instigated review also made a series of recommendations, these include the appointment of a special manager to mirror arrangements in New South Wales, the introduction of an identity linked gambling card in Queensland casinos, implementation of cashless gambling, and the setting of limits for electronic gaming machines.

449

888 acknowledged awareness of “increased cost of debt” and “impact on industry trading conditions in the UK” as group revenue slipped seven per cent year-on-year through the year’s third quarter to £449m (2021: £484m).

Making the comments in a trading update for the July to September time frame, the group primarily aligned the decline to enhanced UK online player safety measures as well as closure in the Netherlands.

With retail reported as stable YoY at £124m, despite the impact of three days of closure, total online revenue fell ten per cent to £325m (2021: £360m).

Total UK online revenue of £171m represented a drop of 13 per cent YoY driven by a reduction in average spend per player, while the Dutch market accounted for four per cent and six per cent of Q3 2021 for 888 and William Hill, respectively.

Breaking this digital performance down by division, 888 in addition to William’s Hill UK and international online segments all tracked declines of five per cent, 14 per cent and 12 per cent to £148m (2021: £156m), £125m (2021: £145m) and £52m (2021: £59m), respectively.

31.2

Playmaker Capital stressed an ambition of evolving from a pure digital sports media business to also capitalise on the igaming affiliate opportunities presented by the North American igaming industry.

To aid with these US and Canadian goals, the company detailed the $31.2m acquisition of Wedge Traffic, which became Playmaker’s first affiliate platform business.

In addition to diversifying revenue generating capabilities and increasing US market exposure, the transaction, said Playmaker, maintains a strategy of acquiring businesses that offer a new core competency to the group’s ecosystem.

It is hoped that Wedge’s technical and affiliation skillset, combined with the Playmaker ecosystem, will “create significant value for online sportsbooks and casino operators that are vying to acquire and retain customers”.

17.26

Las Vegas Sands reaffirmed group-wide confidence in Macau despite acknowledging that the current operating environment in the gaming hub “remains difficult”.

However, despite revenue and AEBITDA shortfalls being reported across all five company properties in the region, the relaxation of restrictions in Singapore saw Marina Bay Sands lead LVS to a 17.26 per cent Q3 revenue rise.

This figure increased year-on-year to $1.01bn (2021: $857m), but operating loss stood at $177m (2021: $316m) with net loss at $380m (2021: $594m) at the close of the three month period.

Despite the ongoing struggles in Macau, Robert Goldstein, Chair and Chief Executive Officer, noted in an earnings call that customer demand and spending “have proven resilient at the premium mass level” from a gaming and retail perspective.

10,000

A $10,000 fine due to a pair of incidents as well as the placement of eight adults on a state-wide exclusion list was made in the latest round of action by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

The former has the regulator approve a consent agreement that led to a fine of $10,000 for Stadium Casino, operator of Live! Casino Philadelphia, for two incidents that saw individuals gain access to restricted areas of the gaming facility.

Furthermore, the board has took action against eight adults, each of which have been banned from all casinos in the Commonwealth for leaving children unattended in order to gamble.

This came after a total of 16 children, aged between two and 13 years of age, left in unattended vehicles at a range of facilities across the state for between eight and 57 minutes.

An official opening to the public followed a ribbon cutting ceremony, attended by company executives and partners, state and local officials, local community members and business and civic leaders, on Friday 8 July.

Bristol Casino – Future Home of Hard Rock , which was one of four establishments vying to debut first within the state, boasts 30,000 square feet of casino space, featuring 870 slots, 21 tables, a sportsbook.

The space includes a main casino floor as well as non-smoking and high limit gaming areas, in addition to food and beverage outlets, and sports bar and lounge with live entertainment.

“We are excited to open the temporary casino in Bristol,” commented Jon Lucas, COO of Hard Rock International. “Hard Rock’s rich and storied music legacy is a perfect fit for Bristol, the ‘Birthplace of Country Music.’

“The casino’s gaming and dining amenities will make it a major entertainment destination for residents from across the region. We appreciate the ongoing collaboration from the Virginia Lottery. Their team has been great to work with.

“Finally, we look forward to opening the permanent casino within two years and bringing the full legendary Hard Rock experience to Bristol.”

As part of the ceremony, Bristol Casino presented a $100,000 donation to the United Way of Bristol TN/VA, from gaming proceeds generated at July 5 and 7 casino events.

The temporary casino is expected to create at least 600 new jobs in Bristol, Virginia and generate significant additional tax revenue for the city, the region and the Commonwealth. The permanent Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Bristol is expected to be completed within 24 months.

“Wow, what an amazing day for Bristol!” noted Allie Evangelista, President of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol.

“Lots of hard work and preparation has gone into getting ready for the grand opening of ‘Bristol Casino – Future Home of Hard Rock.’

“I could not be prouder of our amazing team in the energy and enthusiasm they have shown to help us open the doors to guests today.

“The casino will join the region’s other fun entertainment and recreational tourism assets to help attract even more visitors to Bristol, the Tri-Cities and Southwest Virginia.  Come check out the casino – to game and dine – you’ll love it!”

Currently there are three other land-based casino developments proceeding in Virginia, those being across Norfolk, Portsmouth and Danville, the operating partners of which are Pamunkey Indian Tribe, Rush Street Gaming, and Caesars, respectively.

Earlier this year, a Circuit Court judge in the Virginian capital of Richmond gave the city’s revived casino proposal a huge shot in the arm, after granting permission for a second referendum to be held.
