In support of the UK government’s ‘Levelling Up’ job creation agenda, the Betting and Gaming Council’s members outlined plans to open 15,000 technology vacancies.

The objective was set to cover the next five years, as the BGC and its member companies seek to play a role in the UK’s financial recovery from the pandemic.

Additionally, firms have also outlined that the jobs will focus around the use of technology to drive safer gambling standards, particularly with relation to online products, in order to build on the falling problem gambling rates in the UK – according to UK Gambling Commission data, the problem gambling rate fell to 0.2 per cent last month.

“The BGC wants to build a world class industry that is better understood, respected and a fully engaged member of the communities in which we operate,” explained Michael Dugher, BGC Chief Executive.

“We are proud to work with the Purpose Coalition on the Levelling Up Goals and it is great to see how our members are providing high skilled, well-paid jobs across the retail, hospitality, and tech sectors.”

Caesars Atlantic City received a major renovation after Caesars Entertainment announced a $200m investment in the resort in a bid to improve customer experience.

The plans detail how Caesars will make improvements across Caesars Atlantic City’s valet, hotel lobby, and casino floor amongst other key areas.

Major upgrades to the resort include a new, “unmatched resort experience”, with the first-floor lobby entirely redesigned and including a new Starbucks mobile ordering service. Caesars noted that the store will be a “sleek, contemporary design with minimal decor”.

“Caesars Atlantic City set the standard for extraordinary experiences in the market, and we are thrilled to continue that legacy by reimagining the property from the moment guests step through the doors,” stated John Koster, Regional President for Caesars Entertainment’s Eastern Division.

“This major investment demonstrates our ongoing commitment to elevating guests’ experiences at our resorts as well as advancing the Atlantic City tourism economy.”

Publishing its 2021-22 ESG report, which sets out the firm’s approach to, and performance on, sustainability and ESG related issues, the company details its progress made in implementing the objectives of its Sustainability Charter.

“We have continued to make great progress on all areas of ESG, which is fully-embedded throughout all of our operations,” commented Jette Nygaard-Andersen, Entain’s CEO.

“We are committed to providing the safest possible betting and gaming platform, taking a leading role in supporting the communities in which we operate, reducing our environmental impact and in doing so, making Entain the best place to work for all of our people.

“By delivering on this ambition, we will create long-term, sustainable growth for all of our stakeholders.”

Zitro reinforced its commitment to environmental sustainability after taking new measures to further reduce the impact of its carbon footprint.

As well as opting for collaboration with suppliers committed to the use of environmentally friendly materials in their manufacturing, as a strategy of social responsibility, the company’s implementation of an internal action plan has seen an 80 per cent reduction in its greenhouse gas emissions from energy consumption in software compared to the previous year.

“As a company we have a corporate social responsibility and at Zitro we always try to be one step ahead,” highlighted Johnny Ortiz Viveiros, Founder of Zitro.

“Implementing policies that help protect the environment is part of our company philosophy, so we are committed to sustainable sourcing and prioritise suppliers that engage with emissions-improvement efforts.”

“In addition to the gaming, hotel and entertainment amenities, we plan to offer our guests an opportunity to learn more about our history, our culture and what it means to be Choctaw.”

Naming the property Choctaw Landing is said to signify a place that “feels like home” to guests, according to the Oklahoma tribe. Moreover, they state it will “serve as an overlook” of the surrounding area and as “a guide” into the history of the Choctaw people.

Hochatown is the site of a historical Choctaw Village and many still live in the area. The design of the mercantile and the resort is also said to reflect the tribe’s culture and the property will include historical information about the tribe and feature Choctaw art created by tribal members.

Costing $165m to construct, the property will be four-stories and be 200,000 square-foot of land and will include 100 hotel rooms, 600 slot machines, and eight table games, along with other amenities.

The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma also stated that the construction of the multi-use property will create more than 2,000 new jobs and is said to have an economic impact of more than  $211m.

The Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant, Oklahoma, has announced the grand opening of its resort expansion, featuring a 21-story Sky Tower Hotel and an expanded gaming experience along with amenities, restaurants, lounges and entertainment options.

Located in southeastern Oklahoma just a little over an hour’s drive from North Texas, the newly expanded Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant is one of the largest in the US.

“I am extremely grateful to everyone who has played a role in delivering such a magnificent, top-tier entertainment destination for our region that not only elevates the experience for our guests, but elevates the lives of tribal members, individuals and families living across the state,” said Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma chief, Gary Batton

“This expansion means 1,000 new jobs, funding for much-needed services for tribal members, millions in economic growth for Oklahoma, and additional dollars our tribal government invests in education and infrastructure improvements for all Oklahomans.”

With a goal to “elevate the overall guest experience” in order to meet the demands of a growing customer base from North Texas and beyond, Choctaw invested $600m in the luxury entertainment destination.

“We wanted to create a resort and gaming experience unlike any other and I am proud to say the expansion rivals anything you would find in Las Vegas,” said Heidi Grant, executive officer of gaming and hospitality for Choctaw Nation. “We are thrilled to showcase everything that’s new for guests from Oklahoma, North Texas and beyond. The attention to detail is incredible.

“From the amazing Choctaw art on the walls to new gaming options and swimming pools, to hip new restaurants and lounges and exquisite hotel suites, there is literally something for everyone at the new Choctaw Casino & Resort.”

The design-build team of Tutor Perini Building Corporation and JCJ Architecture, both leaders in their respective fields with extensive hospitality and gaming experience, drove the Choctaw expansion project from concept to completion.

“As gaming patrons across the globe have continued to become increasingly sophisticated in their expectations, it was important to respond to these expectations,” said Bob Gdowski, AIA, principal and director of hospitality design with JCJ Architecture. “The Nation inspired us toward a design that is architecturally refined, is contextually responsive, and most importantly is experientially engaging.”

There are 3,300 new slot machines with a mix of new and classic slots, bringing the total number of machines on property to more than 7,200. The expansion also includes over 40 new table games and a poker room with 30 additional tables, raising the total table count to 136.

The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma has broken ground on a half a million dollar expansion project to its Choctaw Casino Resort, located in the city of Durant.

As part of the development 1,000 new rooms are set to be added to the luxury hotel, bringing the total of the property to 1,600, the largest count in the Sooner State.

Furthermore, in addition to the increased room capacity plans also feature an expanded gaming floor, alongside fresh amenities such as new pools and a lazy river, parking garage, retail space, entertainment options and dining venues.

The Nation, whose $500m project represents the fourth expansion undertaken since the original casino debuted 13 years ago, anticipates that the project will be completed in the spring of 2021, and will generate a further 1,000 jobs for the city.

Gary Batton, chief of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, explained: “Today is a special day for the Choctaw Nation as we embark upon an expansion journey that will result in a top-tier entertainment offering for our region, and will spur economic growth for Durant and our state, plus new employment opportunities for our tribal and community members.

“The expansion will go a long way in meeting the demands of our growing customer base, by delivering exciting new enhancements and luxury amenities for all who visit.”

Batton led the ground breaking ceremony held on the resort property, and was joined by city officials, tribal council members, multiple gaming industry professionals, community members and associates.

The developer for the expansion is the TynanGroup, bringing over 28 years and $8bn worth of hotel, resort and casino experience.

John Tynan, chairman and CEO of TynanGroup, added: “The Choctaw Nation’s latest expansion in Durant will elevate the resort and gaming experience in Oklahoma to the likes of which are typically found only in Las Vegas.

“With a focus on the benefits this project will bring to the Choctaw Nation, the City of Durant, as well as the entire region, the Choctaw Nation has assembled a world-class team to build this mega-project. TynanGroup is proud to be working closely with the Choctaw Nation on this expansion.”

The first Choctaw Casino in Durant opened in 2006, consisting of more than 100,000 square feet. In 2010, the tribe expanded and added the Grand Tower, with the most recent renovation complete in 2015, which brought another hotel tower with a spa, The Grand Theater and the family entertainment centre, The District.

The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, who operate a plethora of gaming facilities across The Sooner State, is to expand its casino resort property located in the city of Durant.

Breaking ground in late spring of next year, and taking approximately 24 months to complete, this is set to be the fourth expansion project undertaken at the property since the original casino opened 12 years ago.

Furthermore, the expansion, which is set to bring in the region of 1,000 jobs to the region, is to see an expanded gaming floor, increased room capacity and additional amenities, such as new pools and lazy river, parking garage, retail space, conference centre, entertainment options and food and beverage.

The very first Choctaw casino within Durant opened its doors for the very first time in 2006, and consisted of more than 100,000 square feet.

Four year later the tribe expanded through the addition of a grand tower, with the most recent renovation, complete in 2015, seeing the inclusion of another hotel tower with a spa, The Grand Theatre and The District family entertainment centre.

Gary Batton, chief of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, explained: “More than 30 years ago our tribe had the vision to begin this expedition, by purchasing the 50 acres that the resort resides on today. The property was the starting point for many wonderful things to come for our tribe.

“We are elated to continue to grow with our community, and improve the lives of our tribal and community members. This expansion will help the local economy, and meet the demands of our growing customer base.”

Tutor Perini Building Corporation is to lead the design-build team, drawing upon prior experience that has seen the completion of in excess of 30 relevant projects for various tribal nations over a 25 year period.

The developer for the expansion is the TynanGroup, who themselves boast more than $6bn of hotel, resort and casino experience.

The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma operate from eight primary locations spread across Oklahoma, namely Durant, Grant, Pocola, Stringtown, McAlester, Stigler, Idabel and Broken Bow.
